BIO
Denise Herrick (mother)
Denise attended Americana School of Beauty, Des Moines, IA. She has a rich experience of farm living and has lived almost her entire life on a farm. She has had a farming heritage on both sides of her family as well as her husband’s. Her passions lie in discipling, wide open spaces, music, cooking, travel, and gardening. Denise currently takes an active role in the farming operation operated by her husband and two sons. She has been married to Stan for over forty five years and is the mother of Bill (wife Shelby), Annie (husband Shane), Joe (wife Molly), and Jenny. She also has ten grandchildren. She lives on a farm near Greenfield, Iowa.
Molly Herrick (daughter-in-law)
Molly studied abroad in Rome, Italy for one semester and graduated from Iowa State University, Ames, IA. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design and minor in design studies. She was raised in Des Moines, IA until age ten, and then moved to rural southwest Iowa. Previous ranching history stems from her maternal side of the family. She is the wife of Joe, a farmer, and the mother of a daughter and son. Molly finds inspiration from God’s intricate creation, and enjoys photography, gardening, and designing meaningful and beautiful spaces. She lives on a farm near Greenfield, Iowa.
Shelby Herrick (daughter-in-law)
Shelby has a Bachelor of Science in Corporate Wellness from Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, MO and a minor in general business as well as a Master of Science in Education, Health and Physical Education. She was raised on an Iowa farm with a strong lineage of farmers that traces back over multiple generations. She is married to Bill, a farmer, and the mother of two sons and a daughter. She loves to create healthy meals utilizing her health and wellness background. Shelby’s favorite things include spending time with her family, traveling, leading women’s Bible studies and exercising. She lives on a farm near Greenfield, Iowa.
Annie Boyd (daughter)
Annie attended Northwestern College in St. Paul, MN and has a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, minor in Middle School Social Studies Education as well as Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies.
Annie grew up on the Herrick Farm in rural Iowa and married her high school sweetheart, Shane, who works for Mercedes Benz. Before becoming a mother, she taught junior high social studies. She is a homeschooling mom of two daughters and three sons. Annie enjoys learning alongside her kids, making quick and easy meals, and writing about her faith and favorite books. She lives with her family in Temecula, California.
Jenny Herrick (daughter)
Jenny has completed courses in Office Systems. She has lived all her life on the farm, enjoying the quieter pace of the rural scene. She has always had a love for animals and nature. For the past five years Jenny has worked as a paraprofessional and enjoys teaching children. She enjoys making and writing about recipes that are trending on social media. She is passionate about her Golden Retriever, Maggie and also the great outdoors. Jenny lives on a farm near Greenfield, Iowa.
The Gingham Apron gals have been actively writing on their blog, www.theginghamapron.com, since October 2014. They share their food, family, faith, and farm life. Annie has been a contributing writer for “Her View from Home” website. Shelby has been a special contributor for Des Moines Juice Magazine (Des Moines Register). Molly has contributed articles for Pella Windows and Doors blog. They’ve been featured in Woman’s World, Iowa Food and Family Cookbook, Welcome Home Des Moines, Iowa Farmer Today, and are members of Food Blogger Pro, an online blogging community.
They have created two e-books, A Gingham Apron Christmas and The Healthy Salads and Soups eBook from The Gingham Apron. Both are distributed on their website.
They are writing their first traditional book titled A Year of Gatherings: Bringing Family, Friends, and Food to Cultivate Meaningful Times Together.
