Melissa Ruhter is an American Christian writer. She is a member of the Cascade Christian Writers (CCW), Idahope Christian Writers (ICW), and Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). She won Second Place in CCW’s 2025 contest for her children’s chapter book, The Mystery at Fox Mansion, and was a finalist in CCW’s 2024 contest for her children’s chapter book, A Beaver’s Tale. She has poems published in the Swallow’s Nest: Poetry Journal, Fifth Annual Issue—December 2023.

She also has a career as a speech-language pathologist in a school district and is a member of her local church. In her free time, when she’s not writing, Melissa likes crafting, reading, learning more about God, and spending time with her husband and two cats.
