Mark Wainwright
Mark Wainwright is an award-winning author who loves to learn, explore, and create. With an MA in English and an MFA in creative writing, he has spent over two decades helping others discover truth through compelling stories and Christian living content—from devotionals to middle grade mysteries to young adult fiction.
After managing editorial departments at multiple Christian publishers for sixteen years, Mark has been teaching Professional Writing courses at Pensacola Christian College since 2017. As an English professor, he trains the next generation of writers in creative writing, editing, and publication—skills he actively practices in his own writing career.
His work has appeared in ParentLife, Answers magazine, Kids Answers, Today’s Christian Living, Clubhouse Jr., Refresh Magazine, Voyage of Discovery, Christian Devotions, Inkspirations Online, Journal for Christian Educators, Keys for Kids, and other publications. He has also written over 200 radio devotional scripts for Trail Life USA (the largest Christian scouting organization for boys).
Mark’s publications demonstrate craft quality and commercial viability. His middle-grade adventure novel, Trapped in a Hot Air Balloon (Abeka, 2021), is included in Abeka’s sixth grade curriculum. Awesome Facts About Space (Answers in Genesis, 2024) won 1st place in the 2025 Illumination Awards and “Book of the Year” in the 2025 Selah Awards. Mark’s publications and manuscripts have placed in dozens of national competitions, including seven 1st place finishes.
Mark lives in Pensacola, Florida, with his wife and teenage kids. When he isn’t teaching or writing, he enjoys exploring national parks—adventures that often spark ideas for his stories.
