Jonathan Hoover
Jonathan serves two organizations. At NewSpring Church in Wichita, Kansas, he is Senior Associate Pastor and Director of Leadership Training and Team Culture, where he develops leaders, shapes organizational culture, and serves on the teaching team. At Regent University, he is Assistant Professor and Academic Program Director for the MS in General Psychology program, and sits on the Institutional Review Board.
At NewSpring, he co-created Through This Valley, a grief support curriculum developed with his wife Wendy and their production team, now used by grieving individuals worldwide. He currently works with the high school ministry alongside his ongoing preaching and leadership development responsibilities.
His research centers on chronic stress and burnout. He conducted the initial psychometric validation of the FBI-P measure and, with his daughter Cheyenne, developed and tested the PERSON-24 Exhaustion Inventory. More recently, he built a novel research strategy that uses LLM API platforms to analyze large textual corpora as quantitative data markers. His work has appeared in The Journal of Psychology and Christianity, The Journal of Psychology and Theology, and The Journal of Workplace Behavioral Health, where he serves on the editorial board. He also builds software, websites, and devices for academic research and psychological assessment, including HSPARC and LitCoder.
Jonathan has been married to Wendy since 2002. They have two daughters, Cheyenne and Summer.
