Patterson, Heather

imagesThe…ahem…self admitted oldest of the 2 sisters of At The Picket Fence. Of course they say with age comes wisdom and maturity … at least that’s what I tell myself anyway.

I currently reside in Atlanta as a transplant. I am the mom of two incredible kids. “The Boy” who is a home-school high school graduate and “The Girl” who is 13 and thinks she’s 18. But most importantly I am the wife of my very own southern gentleman “Bama Boy” who won me over with that Alabama drawl..be still my heart! He is still the love of my life after 19 years.

I am a stay at home mom who has been homeschooling for 10 years and has survived to tell about it! I graduated a homeschooler….yes it is possible! I have a passion for writing, blogging, photography but most of all cooking! I have lost 117 pounds (yes, wow!) and now I help others on their journeys.

But my biggest passion is for my Savior and a close second my family! Blogging has provided an avenue for Vanessa and I to connect in ways I never dreamed imaginable…and you get to come along for the ride!

On our blog, At the Picket Fence (http://www.atthepicketfence.com) we provide women with the instructions for simple, budget-friendly ideas for their homes which prove that one doesn’t need to consider themselves creative to create a home they love. With these ideas for their homes, we also give inspiration for their hearts. Through sharing simple stories of faith, we want to encourage and challenge women to pursue a deeper relationship with Christ.

Heather and her sister Vanessa have over 100,000 followers on Facebook and over 13,000 on Pinterest as well as a strong presence on Instagram and Twitter.

They say, “We are so alike. If you’ve met one of us, you’ve met the other.” Heather quickly proclaims she’s the older sis. Not only are they bloggers but they often speak at conferences and believe very much that you don’t have to have a perfect home for it to be a peaceful home.
