Mikels, Juana

author_juanamikelsSpeaker and Author
Juana was befriended and mentored by Elisabeth Elliot who encouraged Juana to write her story after Juana appeared on Elisabeth’s radio program. Since then, Elisabeth has written the foreword for Juana’s book. Having successfully navigated achievements in performing for live audiences and placing in the Miss Richmond pageant, Juana married her college sweetheart in 1981. She left her husband Terry 3 years later knowing something was missing in their marriage. During their separation, she became a Christ follower and their marriage was reconciled in 1986 with her husband coming to faith in Christ 7 years later. Juana worked as an executive in marketing for more than a decade with Xerox, a Fortune 500 company. She left her lucrative career to be a stay-at-home mom and taught her children for the next 13 years. She has shared their story in a DVD series that Church Initiative, Inc. filmed for churches to use in their weekly meetings. Juana has been speaking publicly since 1995, sharing her testimony with women’s groups in churches and leading seminars on home life and time management for Christian moms. She has appeared on local and national radio programs and has published an article in Homeschooling Today. Juana has been married to Terry for 28 years and they live in Raleigh with their four children.

Juana has her first book under contract tentatively titled Don’t Dump Him: Keeping Your Spouse in a Throwaway World (Ambassador International, 2015). She writes a blog on faith, marriage, parenting and other faith-based topics at www.juanamikels.com, and continues to speak publicly of the transforming power of Jesus Christ. She can be found @JuanaMikels on FB, Twitter, Instagram, Google+ and Pinterest.
