As president of The Blythe Daniel Agency, Inc., Blythe works with clients in the areas of her experience: book development, marketing, and literary representation. She creates timely media messages, executes publicity and marketing campaigns by setting up national interviews, articles, reviews, and online content for her clients. As a literary agent, she represents authors to publishers and helps to develop or further define an author’s platform, unique message, and book concept.
With 20 years of experience in media and publishing, Blythe’s expertise lies in publicizing the works of inspirational-based authors and self-help, home and lifestyle books. She has booked authors on hundreds of media outlets, including The Today Show, Good Morning America, Dateline, Fox News, The G. Gordon Liddy Show, The 700 Club, Life Today, Moody Radio,American Family Radio, FamilyLife, USA/IRN, LA Daily News, and others.
As an agent, she represents authors who come from organizations like Focus on the Family, Cru, Proverbs 31 Ministries, Acts 29 Network, Dollar General, JP Morgan Chase, The Houston Chronicle, K-Love, Today’s Christian Woman, Patheos.com, and others.
Previously, Blythe worked as Public Relations/News Director for WNAZ-FM in Nashville, Tennessee where she was a news reporter and writer and producer/host of two weekly radio programs. She has been an independent publicist and freelance writer for Christian and country music artists, and trade and consumer magazines and newspapers.
Blythe spent 7 years working at Thomas Nelson, Inc. as Publicity Director and then Marketing Director in the Bible and Book divisions where she directed hundreds of publicity campaigns and marketing campaigns and reviewed book proposals for the editorial board.
She left Nashville in 2004 to move to Colorado and opened her agency in 2005. She has worked with publicity clients like Brother Andrew and Open Doors International, Biblica (formerly International Bible Society), NavPress, Thomas Nelson, Penguin Group, B & H Publishing, Baker Books, Howard Books, WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group, Standard Publishing, Moody Publishers, Beacon Hill Press, New Growth Press, Cityteam, InScribed Studies, 1Source, and others.
During her time at Thomas Nelson and since she opened her agency, she has worked on publicity campaigns for John Maxwell, Kim Alexis, Reggie White, John Hagee, John Eldredge, Charles Stanley, Andy Stanley, Steve Arterburn, Dennis Rainey, Dave Ramsey, Sheila Walsh, Dr. Jim Dixon, Ginny Brant (daughter of Nixon advisor during Watergate), Jeff Iorg (President of Golden Gate Seminary), Katie Brazelton (Life Purpose Coaching Centers) and others.
She has been the Product Development Manager for Ransomed Heart Ministries founded by New York Times bestselling author John and Stasi Eldredge. Blythe has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communication from Auburn University with a minor in Journalism. She lives in Colorado Springs with her husband, daughter and boy/girl twins. Jessica Kirkland, Marketing and Literary Agent
Jessica Kirkland joined The Blythe Daniel Agency, Inc. as Marketing and Literary Agent in 2012. She acquires both fiction and non-fiction and has a strong command for helping authors with book development. Jessica thinks outside the box as a marketer, and her experience as a business owner has helped her to coach authors to brand themselves more effectively.
She brings a lot of creative ability and innovative thinking to the publishing industry and to the agency. In addition to helping acquire and build new talent, Jessica has a strong background in sales. She speaks frequently at writers conferences on marketing, blogging, and the life of a writer. She also does blog critiques and author consulting for hybrid authors (who publish with traditional publishers and independent publishing) and indie authors. Jessica represents several finalists and winners from the ACFW Genesis Contest.
Jessica has a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications and a minor in Marketing from Sam Houston State University. When Jessica isn’t helping authors write their books, she writes on her own website www.iliveloud.net where she encourages people to make their moments count. Jessica lives in Texas with her husband, Robb, and 7-year-old triplets. She can be bribed with hugs and gluten-free cupcakes, and enjoys chatting with authors on Facebook and Twitter.
